The client & the challenge

Families need more than a brochure.

FAN exists for parents who feel ignored by the systems that were supposed to protect their families. Its website had to do real work for them.

01

The client

Father’s Advocacy Network is a nonprofit that provides free CPS and family court advocacy tools for parents facing a CPS investigation, a custody battle, or both.

Alongside support for families, FAN gives people with first-hand knowledge of misconduct a way to go on record, and its editorial team turns approved reports into public accountability stories. FAN is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.

Description drawn from fathersadvocacynetwork.org.

02

The challenge

Families facing CPS and custody battles often have nowhere organized to turn — and FAN needed more than a brochure website to help them.

Parents in crisis are juggling documents, dates, calls and court deadlines. A typical CRM would have tracked them as contacts. FAN needed the opposite: a platform built for the families themselves, with tools that organize their case and support behind it.

What we built

A website. And a lifeline.

A mission-driven public website, plus a family-support platform that goes beyond a CRM — giving families real tools, resources and support in one place.

Website · fathersadvocacynetwork.org

A public site that speaks to parents

The website leads with the mission and gets parents to the right help fast — free, secure and private, with clear notice that FAN does not give legal advice.

  • A clear “Get started — it’s free” path into the platform, plus a login for returning families
  • Three paths explained side by side: case preparation & advocacy, misconduct complaints and exposure reports
  • Ways for supporters to help: donate, volunteer and sponsor
  • Mobile-friendly, so a parent can start from their phone

Built around what each person needs

Instead of one generic intake, the platform guides people down the path that fits their situation — and they can change direction at any time.

  • Case preparation & advocacy for parents in an active CPS or custody case: full intake and case file
  • Misconduct complaints with a journalist-style guided interview, evidence upload and staff review before anything is published
  • Exposure reports built by FAN’s editorial team from approved complaints and case files

A clear, date-by-date record of what happened, with linked evidence and source tracking.

Guided court coaching

Educational guidance on process and terminology, plus “Practice Your Hearing” to prepare for court.

Attorney portal & invite

Families can invite their attorney to view the organized case file through a secure portal.

Accountability flags

Potential procedural concerns and systemic patterns flagged from the family’s documented facts.

Advocate assignment

When capacity allows, FAN staff review case files, flag concerns and provide guidance.

How it works together
